Non-surgical spinal decompression uses a type of motorized traction that helps relieve back pain and works by gently stretching the spine. This relieves pressure from the spinal discs (the gel-like cushions between the vertebrae) by creating negative pressure within the discs. As a result, bulging or herniated discs may retract, taking pressure off nerves to help promote movement of water, oxygen, and nutrient-rich fluids into the discs so they can heal.

This therapy is recommended for chronic and acute neck or low back pain for patients who have had little success with other conservative treatments. Several studies have shown an overall improvement in the relief of symptoms.
A thorough consultation with the doctor and a review of any medical documents, x-rays, MRI films or CAT scan reports relating to your condition will take place on your initial consultation. If this type of therapy is determined to be appropriate for your condition, at home exercises will be assigned, designed to help you regain control of your spinal problem & strengthen your muscles to prevent further disability. The chiropractor will set up a treatment of care.

Spinal Decompression Therapy is effective for:
Sciatica, Pain, Weakness, or Tingling that extends down the leg
Herniated Disc or Ruptured Disc
Degenerative or Bulging Disc
Worn Spinal Joints (called posterior facet syndrome)
Injured or Diseased Spinal Nerve Roots
Chronic/Acute Neck Pain
Chronic/Acute Low Back Pain

Acupuncture is a therapeutic method from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in which fine, solid needles are inserted at specific points in the body.
Acupuncture is one of the safest therapeutic interventions ever used by humankind, with a time-tested record of millions of treatments, with minimal side effects. The sterile needles are very fine and do not damage the tissues when inserted. Acupuncture does not cause any significant discomfort in the majority of patients. In fact, for many people, acupuncture is a pleasant experience due to the sense of well-being that usually follows the treatment.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes the use of acupuncture in the treatment of the following conditions:
Neurologic & Muscular Disorders:
Acute Sprains & Strains
Headaches
Neck & Shoulder Pain
Back Pain & Sciatica
Degenerative Disc Disease
Facial Pain
Sports injuries
Joint Pain (Osteoarthritis)
Post-herpetic Neuralgia (shingles)
Rotator-cuff/shoulder injuries

Repetitive Strain Disorders:
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Tennis Elbow
Plantar Fasciitis

Massage Therapy is the assessment and treatment of soft tissues and joints of the body to effect a therapeutic response in the treatment and prevention of physical dysfunction.

It can be preventative or restorative, helping to maintain, rehabilitate, or augment physical function or relieve pain.
Massage therapy has firmly established its role as a clinically–oriented health option used to relieve a variety of discomforts because it achieves undeniable results.
Massage can help alleviate the soft tissue discomfort associated with everyday stress, muscular overuse and many chronic pain syndromes. If employed early enough after accidents involving trauma and injury, massage therapy can greatly reduce the development of painful muscular patterning.

Registered Massage Therapists (RMT) are trained to help relieve:
Arthritis & Tendinitis
Stress relief & associated conditions
Headaches & Migraines
Back pain
Muscle conditions (spasms, strains)
Repetitive strain injury
Circulatory & Respiratory Problems
Pregnancy & Labour discomfort
Post injury & Post-surgical rehabilitation

All our treatment rooms and linens are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each client.
Washrooms are available for client use.
Most massage therapists use a music streaming service. You can customize the music during your treatment if you wish.

Cancellation Policy
Your appointment time has been reserved for you. In consideration of your practitioner’s time and accommodating other clients, we require at least 24 hours prior notice if you need to cancel your appointment. Custimized Foot Orthotics

are provided by Dr. James Hadden and Dr. Janine Taylor.

Your feet have a direct impact on the rest of your body and support you with each step. A small abnormality in your foot function can have a large impact on joints higher up in the body, causing pain & discomfort that can be alleviated with wearing custom orthotics.

Doctors may prescribe orthotics to treat a number of medical conditions:

Arthritis - Discomfort in the feet caused by poor bone and joint positioning which leads to degeneration that orthotics may help to correct.
Back pain - Sometimes poor positioning of the feet, such as arches that roll inward, or a lack of cushioning can cause pain that orthotics can lessen.
Bunions - Painful bumps that can develop at the base of the big toe and cause foot deformities. Orthotics with a wide toe box can help to reduce pressure on the big toe.
Bursitis - Inflammation of fluid-filled sacs in the heels and toes can cause bursitis pain and discomfort. Orthotics with heel and arch support can help to reduce discomfort.
Diabetes - Sometimes, a person with diabetes can lose sensation in their feet, a condition known as diabetic neuropathy. Orthotics can help to reduce excess stress and pressure that can lead to foot ulcers.
Flat feet - Flat feet can cause foot, ankle, and back pain. Orthotics can help to support the feet and promote proper foot positioning.
Hammer toes - Occur as a side effect of bunions on the big toe. They cause second-toe pain and deformities on the ball of the foot. Orthotics can provide additional support to the feet and reduce the likelihood that hammer toes will worsen.
Heel spurs - Conditions where excess bone grows on the back or bottom of the heel. Orthotics can support the foot and reduce inflammation.
High arches - Can stress muscles in the feet and lead to a number of conditions, such as shin splints, knee pain, and plantar fasciitis. Orthotics can help prevent the foot from rolling excessively inward or outward.
Injuries - People who’ve experienced trauma to their feet and ankles may require extra support during the healing process with orthotics.
Plantar fasciitis - Commonly causes heel pain due to repetitive strain or tearing of the plantar muscles and tendons. Orthotics can support the heel and foot.

Prescription orthotics are biomechanical appliances that are custom molded to correct your specific foot imbalances. Orthotics work on the feet in the same way that braces work on the teeth, by gently exerting consistent pressure to bring the foot muscles, ligaments and bones back into proper alignment.
Our orthotics are made of custom molded, flexible, carbon-fibre reinforced thermoplastic.

The 'GaitScan' system is a computerized diagnostic imaging system that records timing sequences as you walk and stand on a pressure plate. This allows us to have a clear picture of your foot mechanics to determine whether you would benefit from wearing custom made foot orthotics. A detailed biomechanical report and prescription for orthotics will be provided to you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Check with your extended health care provider for orthotics coverage.
See your family physician first as most insurance companies require a prescription from your MD prior to submitting a claim

FEES for orthotics vary and additional costs will be applied with purchase of a shoe.
